The Credit System |
The credit system was introduced in
1994. During their university studies the students have to take
some optional subjects. It is the students' choice in which
semester they wish to study a given optional subject - with the
only restriction that the subject must logically fit into the
sequence of all the obligatory subjects. On the basis of the
place of the recognized credit courses in the training of
doctors, the previous experience, and the quality expectations,
a certain number of credit points are assigned to each
recognized course. The number of credits may range from 3 to 12.
The staff member responsible for the course evaluates each
student's performance by giving credits. The points gained by
the students may be any integer from zero to the maximum of the
course in question. The students must collect 50 credits during
the first five years of their academic studies. The student
whose grade book does not justify the obtaining of 50 points is
excluded from the enrolment in the sixth (last) academic year.
